Notes

I loved this pattern, but Purl Soho never has four skeins of any colours I like. So I made one last summer striping from brown through bronze to gold to silver. I got so many compliments and it was so great in the heat of summer that this year I made another with deep pink and purple.

On the two color sweater, I changed to the purple on the row that starts the sleeves. For the four stripe version, my bottom stripe was a bit more than six inches, and the last silver stripe was a bit more than five. This isn’t a science. Just start a bit more than six and made the successive stripes half an inch narrower and it’ll work out fine.

If you are knitting the small size you may get away with three skeins rather than four, depending on how many colors you’re using and your striping strategy. So don’t have the store wind your skeins so you can return an extra, if you have one. On the two color sweater, I finished with less than 20 yards of purple to spare!
