Notes

This Teddy Sweater is my very first crocheted sweater and I’m so happy with the way it turned out!

I’m just beginning to feel comfortable with post stitches, so I was a bit wary of trying this at first, especially with the sleeves, but the pattern is so well written that I didn’t have any problem understanding the directions.

I enjoyed learning how to add sleeves without having to set them in or do any sewing - and getting the right number of sts. for each sleeve was easy to accomplish (another new technique under my crochet belt).

I added a round of contrast colour to the neck and sleeves, just for interest. The ribbon was already part of George’s ensemble and I left it on because it adds a touch of style and compliments the sweater. The red cap is a Berry Baby Hat and the green cap is from the thrift shop.

George seems to be very pleased with his new sweater and now the other bears in the hug are green with envy! I see a lot more of these teddy sweaters in my future.

Thank you merripurdy for creating this lovely design and sharing with us!!
