First wristlet done on Oct. 8th. I have rarely used dpns and also knitted very little stranded colorwork. Also so many ends to weave in. I watched a video from Arenda Holladay’s blog on stranded colorwork that helped with weaving in the ends. I think I would like to try using magic loop, but I have to figure out how to get the join tighter. Used size 3 DPNS and ended up with gauge on the stitch count, but the row count was 40, not 37.
Second Wristlet started on Friday, Oct. 11 and finished on Oct 14th. Used size 3 - 24 length cable magic loop.
I need to find a way to handle the jogs and also do a better join. Pam Haswell has a good article about joins and Mary Jacobs has also has a good article. Margaret Radcliffe in her colorwork book mentioned issues with the join. I might go back to DPNs as much as I hate them. More even tension and less laddering. I don’t think duplicate stitch will work with the one line of green blue. My measurements were almost spot on.
Third wristlet started on Oct 16th. Almost done on Oct. 17th, but I had problems with my tension on the last 4 rows. Will have to pick back and redo. This one is again on size 3 dpns. I do get better tension this way. Leaving lots of ends to weave in and hoping I can use this to help me with the jog between the rows. Ordered a magnifying glass with a stand and light. Too hard to find the stitches for duplicate stitch in the back. I really want to enjoy this project, but I just can’t seem to. I want it done. Also, remembering to weave in the yarn before I go to the next dpn.
