With Stitch Fiddle I made a graph of 80 spaces square; added 20 spaces to each side and 20 rows to top and bottom to make blanket 120 stitches wide and 120 rows long. It turned out a little wider than long. Used single crochet stitches and techniques used making center panel of Personalized Baby Afghan.

For the border I did one row sc in white, 1 row in red with 2 dc’s crossed with 1 dc, and the rest in white: 1 row sc, next row: sc, ch 3, sk 2 sts, sc, next row sc in loop, ch 5, sc in loop; last row sc in loop, ch 6, sl in 4th ch, ch 2, sc in next loop. The sc is just a bit wider than tall. To make this a square blanket I would have to add about 1 1/2” worth of rows top and bottom. It turned out about 3” shorter than wide.
