This was definitely an adventure - almost a year of knitting. (Not, by any means, the only thing I was knitting… but a lot of the time it spent resting was me trying to avoid ripping it all back out of frustration!) This was waaaaay above my skill level when I started it, and it shows: the top diamond-feathering is highly irregular. As it turns out, the recipient of the shawl loves the more organic/chaotic look, which is awfully good. I’ve already got the yarn to make myself a coordinating shawl in different colors - learning from my mistakes (and taking very thorough notes including meticulous stitch counts for all but the last ten-fifteen rows) will hopefully make it a less stressful process.

This is the point at which the feather-tips are beginning to be shaped, and I got too into the pattern to keep taking notes. However, at this point, it’s pretty blatantly easy to see mistakes in the lace and correct!
