I’m making these to match the scarf I made for my mom’s birthday.
Did 12 rows 2x2 ribbing for the cuff. Two repeats plus rows 1-4 of pattern, starting thumb on row 5 of the third pattern repeat.

Finished the first mitten tonight. The thumb looks a little weird and I’m hoping some blocking will make the whole thing look better. It’s ok I guess, since this is my first attempt at a mitten.

I decided the other day that I didn’t like how these were turing out so I frogged the first complete mitten and started a second based on the simple pattern from the Purl Bee. They are very easy and look better than the first. I’ve completed one so far and hope to get the second mitten well on its way tomorrow. Today would have been a beautiful day to take some photos of the mitten but alas, I was too busy eating :)

Mitten one finished except for thumb. Working on thumb gusset for mitten two. Hopefully these will be finished tomorrow so i can wash them and send them on their way next week.

Mitten #2 is done. Mitten #2 is a smidge smaller than #1 but at this point I just want them finished. Thumbs are finished and ends are woven in. Tomorrow I’ll need to wash them and sew on some buttons.

All done. Washed with buttons sewn on. First mitten is definitely larger. I’m not sure if my gauge changed or my stitch count was off. Hopefully my mother loves me enough to pretend like she doesn’t notice :)
NOTE
I gave this yarn a three star rating because while it is softer than regular wool, it is very splity and gets snagged often.
