First colorwork pattern for me that isn’t mosaic.

Half way through and this hat is enormous.
I even went down to a size 4 needle!
I think the original pattern was done in a small thinner yarn than listed.
I am going to finish the other half just for the practice.
Then I will make another hat either in a sport weight yarn or reduce the cast on. We shall see! :)

9/27/11 - Starting over in sport weight yarn (caron simply soft is not worsted #4 I don’t care what they say) and the size difference is amazing already.
So far so good!

Note: casting on 108 with normal worsted and larger needle makes for a normal size hat :)

12/20/11 Im 90% finished. Just have to do the decreases on the second side! This was a real labor of love!

12/22/11 FINISHED! it came out great. A little tall though, Id probably leave out the top decoration before the decreases next time.
