Notes

12/16/21 - Since they are too long for me, I birthday gifted them to Candy.

2/18/20
I used addi circulars and old circulars for these socks. The addis are sized differently than US needles. I used standard 2.25mm (US 1) for the main part of the sock and then addi 3.0mm (US 2.5) for the leg.

9/2/19
Finished the 2nd sock. I exactly matched the number of rows of leg and ribbing, so that they are the same. Combination Knitting (https://youtu.be/5WP2MlICOWU) works really well to remove the ladders from the k6,p2 ribbing. Used 60g for the feet & legs and 30g double strand for the toes & heels.
9/1/19
Finished the 1st sock with 1.5” of k1, p1 ribbing.

8/28/19
Frogged back both socks, because the heel is too small and the foot is 10 rows too long. This time, I’m going to put the gusset (which already exists) into the sole instead of the instep.

Good thing I purchased 000 and 00 circular needles, as they make perfect lifelines for picking up the desired last foot row before the heel.

8/27/19
On Sock #2, I added a mini gusset of 5 sts on each side of the instep before and after making the heel. On sock #1, I added the mini gusset to the sole. I worked the 28 heel sts as if there were no additions to the width of the sock. The sock heel to me is not quite big enough to cover my heel. I think I needed to add the additional 10 gusset sts to the heel and move the heel toward the toe to compensate for the additional rows needed to make the heel.

8/24/19
Finished the 1st sock. US 1 needles for the foot and US 2 needles for the leg; Super Stretchy BO. Used 11 gr of Sock-Ease and 30 gr of Heritage Silk. Started the 2nd sock to match the 1st.

I should have enough yarn to make another 3 socks. Oh boy!

8/15/19
Turkish CO 24 sts (12 on each side). Reinforcement by using double strands of the Lion Brand for the toes and heels. The Cascade Heritage Silk yarn does not have nylon in it to reinforce the toes & heels, whereas the Lion Brand Sock-Ease does.

Increased to 56 sts, dropped the Lion Brand yarn and continued with the Cascade yarn to make the foot.
