Place markers for the decrease rows :

The decreases will be made, firstly between the 11 st markers until 1 st is left and then between the 7 st markers.

Place the BOR marker, 4sts, pm, 15 sts, pm, 22sts, pm, 33sts, pm, 40sts, pm, 51sts, pm, 58sts, pm, 69sts, pm, 3 last sts is back to the BOR marker at 72sts

CROWN OF THE TOUQUE

From this point you will be repeating 1 round of only k1p1 rib and then 1 round of the decrease rows.

Round 1: knit all the knitted stitches and purl all the purled stitches up to next marker, sm, SSK (slip 2 sts knitwise then knit them together), knit all the knitted stitches and purl all the purled stitches until 2 sts remain before next marker, k2tog, sm, knit all the knitted stitches and purl all the purled stitches until next marker, sm, SSK, k1p1 until 2 sts remain before next marker, k2tog, sm, k1p1 until next marker, SSK, knit all the knitted stitches and purl all the purled stitches until 2 sts remain before next marker, k2tog, sm, k1p1 until next marker, sm, SSK, knit all the knitted stitches and purl all the purled stitches until 2 sts remain before next marker, k2tog, sm, k1p1 x 3 st, slip BOR marker. (64 sts)

Round 2: knit all the knitted stitches and purl all the purled stitches

Repeat rounds 1 and 2 three more times so that your 11st section is now down to 3 sts. (40 sts)

Stop 1 st before the first set of 3st decreased section.

Round 9: (look on UTube video at 25:30) remove the markers separating the 3 sts remaining from the decreased section, p2tog, p1, with yarn in back of work slip1 purlwise on to a st holder then slip the next st on to right needle then return the first slipped st back on to the left needle and then return the second slipped stitch back onto the left needle and, finally, purl those two sts together, (3 purl sts in a row) knit all the knitted stitches and purl all the purled stitches up to next marker, stop 1 st before the next set of 3st decreased section repeat 3 times (32 sts)

Round 10: knit all the knitted stitches and purl all the purled stitchesstopping 2 sts before the first 3 purled section.

Round 11: p2tog, p2, p2tog, p1, p1, k1 repeat 3 times (24 sts)

Round 12: knit all the knitted stitches and purl all the purled stitches

Round 13: with yarn in back of work slip1 purlwise on to a st holder then slip the next st on to right needle then return the first slipped st back on to the left needle and then return the second slipped stitch back onto the left needle and, finally, purl those two sts together, p1, p2tog, k1 repeat 3 times (16 sts)

Round 14: knit all the knitted stitches and purl all the purled stitches

Cut the working yarn and weave it through the remaining 16 sts two times then knot it and weave into the work.
