Notes

Started this after my March trip to Chatham to honor Marge Russell. Other than that sign post, the yarn purchase date and project start date are estimates.

Bought 4 balls, used 2 and a titch. Have 3.2 oz left of the 3rd ball.

Total weight per ball is 3.52. Have 3.2 oz left of ball three, so used 1 - (3.2/3.52) = .09% of ball three used.

2.09 balls x 295 yds/ball = 616 yds used for Knit Meter.

Pattern and mods: My first go at this pattern (mid March 2024?) used wool. Not a good choice - at least not at the gauge I was using for that version. The lace drew together, didn’t hang open as desired. Also, noted points wanted to curl up on the bottom edge. Stopped after bottom lace and started this version.

Started over, late March 2024 with this lovely linen/cotton/blend. Cast on for size 46. Wanted about 60” circumference like Happiness . Added beads on second row to keep points down. If knitting again, I’d probably add smaller beads to the cast on row.

I love this - the boxy shape flatters my weight-loosing-shape. The linen/cotton was warm and cool enough over a tank top through a whole day in and out of barns and crowds at Sheperd’s Harvest. Lots of compliments, too.

I did a tiny bit of neck shaping - one less row at neck in front. It’s so discrete that I have to really study to know which way to put the garment on. W/h/b fine w/o it. Next time skip or do two rows or sew a tag at the back!

I did begin knitting the sleeves as written, but the bodd of the sweater was so wide (per my perference) compared to my own body that the top of the sweater already came most of the way down my upper arm. I omitted the gorgeous lace sleeves with regret and did one row of K2tog/yo before binding off. Can’t recall if I did a plain K round between. That solution gave a bit of a nod to the lace at the waist.

Didn’t block it, just popped it on.
