completed the front! truly felt like I was reading latin during the neck and shoulder shaping while binding off. it would have been nice to have a chart for a sample size or something - I definitely did not count correctly on my own, I think I started the every other four rows after the 4 count instead of before it.
It was helpful to read other peoples comments to feel like I wasn’t just going crazy. To clarify what I learned: every other row indicates since your last increase in that spot - not overall row count. for example:
Row A; RS, right shoulder: work in stitch pattern
Row A; RS, left shoulder: decrease row
Row B; WS, left shoulder: work in stitch pattern
Row B; WS, right shoulder: decrease row
Row C; RS, right shoulder: work in stitch pattern
Row C; RS, left shoulder: work in stitch pattern
Row D; WS, left shoulder: work in stitch pattern
Row D; WS, right shoulder: work in stitch pattern
The way I personally counted rows was by repeats (since pattern said repeat every other row 4 times for my size) so rows A-D = 1.
All of this said, it looks fine and I think I can block any errors out.

finished sleeves, collar, buttonhole bands today, so ALL knitting. tomorrow is seaming day, yikes!
I worked the sleeves two at a time to keep myself in check to make sure they stayed symmetrical, and glad I did. It was SO much easier not to constantly measure one to the other.

Finished all seaming, adding buttons, and did a steam block instead of full wet blocking. I finished a little after Christmas, but still glad to have made it within the year. As much as I love the look and fit of a seamed sweater, I did NOT enjoy the process quite like I do knitting. I had to keep myself in check from getting lazy and skipping stitches so it wouldn’t come out lumpy.
All is said and done, love this sweater as does Matt!
