Notes

A springtime sheep dress finished with a white crochet peter pan collar, tiny sheep along the hem and featuring a cheery check beneath them. I used Knit Picks pastel heather yarns and love the cheerful, spring look they created.

This dress is a little less full than my usual ones to better accommodate the check and sheep pattern. I used a long tail cast on of 84 stitches. The first 5 rows are garter stitch done on straight needles before joining in the round on row 6. (The long tail cast on is row 1.) Next, I did 6 repeats of the chart pictured on the left. Three colors must be carried when working the sheep heads in this pattern….but only for two rows.

I followed my usual dress modifications and decrease formulas found here

The Peter Pan collar is from the Textured Dresses pattern by Julie Williams. I used Aunt Lydia’s #10 Cotton crochet thread in white and a 2.5mm hook.

The hoodie pattern is linked above. I did add stitches under the arms to help it better fit over the dress. Rather than a button I crocheted chains so I could tie a bow at the neck.

This dress would work in a variety of color combinations for winter, summer, fall or Christmas.

The bunny was knit on 2.75mm neeedles using Sublime extra fine merino DK in caramel.
