Notes

A very brave bunny venturing out into the pumpkin patch at night!

I played with a spider web look over the pumpkins and love the way it turned out. It easily adapted to the dress folds and decreases at the waist narrowing as a spider web would.

For this dress, I used a long tail cast on of 90 stitches and knit rows 2-5 on straight needles joining in the round on row 6. The long tail cast on is row 1.

I used 10 repeats of the chart shown on the left. I followed my usual dress modifications found here Three strands of yarn do need to be carried but only for two rows. I stopped knitting in the round and began knitting back and forth with a purl row on row 23 of the chart to create a back opening. This allowed me to begin the bodice decreases with a purl row on row 29 of the chart

Of special note are the decrease rows at the bodice. I used the indigo heather (Darker purple color) only for the 2 decrease rows. To keep this darker color dominant in the first decrease row, if the lighter purple was first (or on the right of the two stitches next up on my left needle), I did a “ purl 2 tog through the back loop”. This always kept the darker purple on top and gave a neat finish. On the next decrease row,I also used a ssk for k2tog if I thought it would help finish the look better.

The little capelet pattern is linked above. I used Sweet Georgia Yarns Party glitterati in Ultraviolet from the honey fig party of five.

The bunny was knit on 2.75mm neeedles using Sublime extra fine merino DK in caramel.
