This dress was inspired by the sun shining brighter despite the chilly temperatures and snow on the ground. Choosing colors for fair isle is a struggle for me…I need to relax and enjoy it more! The sweater was a test of how to incorporate the dress colors into the yoke. Still needs tweaking. The ribbed neck and cuffs are fine but the the ribbed hem bind off is a bit constricting around a chubby bunny tummy and full skirt.

The dress was knit with a long tail cast on of 96 stitches, using the pattern pictured for 12 repeats. The cast on row counts as the first and second rows of the chart. The cast on row and next 4 rows are knit on straight needles to create a three garter ridge hem. Tips for creating a neat garter stitch hem in multiple colors can be found here. The dress is joined in the round on row six of the chart and skirt decreases begin on row 30. The bunny was knit on 2.75 mm needles with Filatura di Crosa Zara yarn in Latte 1773.
