This is the end of the first ball of not-rabbit-angora from tropical Lane. The lace pattern looks ok, but I do want a more airy appearance. The Malabrigo is lace weight and should work up like the original pattern.

I'm convinced that this yarn is mohair, not rabbit angora. It's a bit scratchy and has longer guard hairs.

Skipping the ruffle, starting and ending with 5 rows garter, no provisional.

The yarn I originally purchased is not what I wanted (goat angora/mohair not rabbit) so I’m starting over with Malabrigo Silkpaca. I also was not a fan of using the thicker yarn - the lace didn’t show as well. I think I’ll like the true lace weight better.

February 25
Coming along nicely in the Silkpaca. I’ve just finished the 12th repeat. The lace takes concentration because of patterning on both sides. I’m doing about 1 repeat every morning, while working around other projects.

April 9
Cast off today using Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy BO. 16 repeats, 5 rows garter on each end, no ruffle . Unlocked dimensions 8.5x46”.

Blocked to about 11x66, and I hardly stretched it at all. It could easily have been an inch wider and several inches longer.

There were 7g remaining of 1 skein.
