Berroco’s Softwist is a blend of rayon and wool. The yarn is, as it is called, a twist of these components therefore it splits very easily. Great care was taken so as to keep the fiber intact.
I LOVE the neckline but if you look carefully, the beautiful U meets the set-in arm seam causing there to be no shoulder seam, really. Therefore, the wide, flattering neckline wants to fall down over the shoulder. To me, there is nothing worse than fussing over fashion ….. so upon discovering this nuisance, I carefully strung elastic thread all around the neckline (in the inside), put the sweater back on, and adjusted the elastic thread to the point of comfort. I have worn this sweater many times and I just love it. (I am still posting projects, past and present.) It was difficult to find just what to model it with here as it is very versatile and can be worn in any number of ways.
A week after the initial posting:
OK, Ravelry has served me well, here. When I viewed my photographs, I noticed that the bottom ribbing needed some updating (looked too stretched to me)…. so, I ran 2 strands of elastic thread (just like the technique described, above). Now, I have new updated ribbing (and photos)! Thank you, Ravelry (and my self-talking) in making this project even better!
