To knit this cowl I cast on 31 stitches. First 4 rows in seed stitch followed by the Moss-bordered diamonds pattern in Barbara Walker’s Treasury #1.

When I’d used up the whole skein, I knitted about 50g-worth of the brown cashmere/merino blend that I bought on TradeMe.

The result is soft and drapey - possible slightly too long and too draped for an onlooker to see the nice pattern I knitted into it.

But it does feel soft and warm and the red is gorgeous.
