Since our winters aren’t too fierce in Virginia, considering omitting the fold-under earflap. CO 84 sts (since my gauge on the larger needles indicated I’d have a 21” circ. hat…perfect for his head), did k2p2 ribbing for 1-1/2 inches on size 6 needles, then switched to size 8 for remainder of the hat.
2/20- After missing one line on the chart and have to rip out 12 rows last night, I finished the hat today and I don’t like the decrease and the hat will be too large for my 8yr old. Debating on whether to frog and do a different pattern altogether, or rip it out and re-do with smaller needles. Guess I’ll see what my son says in the morning.
2/21 - he loves it! I woke up to him wearing it proudly. :) I will still re-do the decrease to make it a little smoother, but he’ll be able to wear it either later today or tomorrow.
