I was asked to make newborns for our local hospital to settle the dementia patients, so I was excited to find this pattern. I couldn’t resist making my own as I really like the pattern, especially when I saw those splendid butt-cheeks! Absolutely love it!

WRITTEN PATTERN: The pattern is very clearly written and laid out; explaining each section of each body part, so you know exactly where you are, which makes it a dream to knit.

Started the FRONT BODY 07-03-16 for my baby #1
completed 09-03-16 and started BACK BODY and completed it on 10.03.16. (33g approx.)
Started HEAD 10.03.16 discovered kfb 3 times meant for next 3 sts. Completed knitting of head 17.03.16
Started left LEG 20.03.16 completed both legs 21.03.16
Completed both ARMS 06.05.16

Started MAKING UP 22.04.16. and needle sculpting the baby’s various dimples and tucks. Baby is bigger than I imagined!

PLANNING THE FACE: 24.04.16
25.04.16. I have embroidered the mouth having drawn in the mouth and needle sculpted the nose and other features. Embroidered one eye and started the second.
Applied eyes to sockets and knitted
EYELIDS by casting on 10 sts,
knit one row; p2tog, p2, p2tog, p2 p2tog; k1, k2 tog k2, k2tog, break yarn and thread through rem sts to fasten, then sew around top of eye.

Next EYELASHES EYEBROWS and HAIR using some dyed mohair/ roving that I got years ago and cannot remember where.
Finished baby weighs 11 lbs 5 oz (513 kg) without clothes.
Just finished nappy 29.04.16

A friend found me the Charity shop baby clothes for 0 -3 months that seem to fit best. I like the multi-stripe one best Made second baby with dark skin tone.
