Notes

30 jan: done! attached one button with an i-cord button loop. I think it is cute. :) Needs photos and a wash, then I can mail it off!

28 jan: picked up for the i-cord edge, almost done! It looks really cute. Still haven’t figured out what to do for a closure. I am leaning towards i-cord ties, just one. I’ve noticed that most parents don’t close cardigans on squirmy babies. :)

25 jan: all seamed! need to pick up for the i-cord edge. It looks pretty cute, but LONG.

24 jan: done knitting, just need to seam it up and do i-cord edging. I actually bought a zipper but accidentally picked up a non-separating. Oops! I am thinking about doing i-cord ties? instead of zipper or buttons now.

22 jan: ran out of blue yarn on the second sleeve last night! Going to see if Ben Franklin will exchange one ball of red for blue since I have another ball of red untouched.

i had been thinking about a zipper but now I am thinking buttons might be a better idea.

21 jan: finished one sleeve! did a bunch of decreases every 3 ridges, then every 2. Down to 27 st for the sleeve cuff. i-cord bind off at the cuff. Tonight I’ll start the second sleeve -- I’m a little worried I am going to run out of the blue yarn but we’ll see. After that I will pick up in red and do an i-cord edge around the entire sweater edge.

20 jan: ripped the sleeve out twice, once to remove the intarsia red stripe, once because I was doing the decreases every other row instead of every 6th. the sleeve is taking FOREVER.

16 jan: hood done and grafted. Started a sleeve. Am trying to do the red down the entire length of the sleeve thing but I am not sure I like how it looks (since I really cannot do intarsia).

14 jan: halfway through the hood!

12 jan: hood increases done, about 1/4 through the rest of the hood. I will probably bind off a few stitches at the center and knit both sides of the hood rather than following ez’s directions exactly (I did this on the 5 hour baby sweater hood as well).

11 jan: onto the hood! depending on how much yarn the hood uses, I think I may be ok on blue yarn amounts…

10 jan: joined for the collar portion last night and finished one ball of the blue.

I ordered a Capitals patch from NHL.com to sew onto this sweater -- only issue is that the website didn’t say how large it is, so it may end up on the back instead of the front. :) Still trying to make this look sort of hockey styled but not having much luck so far. :)

9 jan: 80 st co. just bound off the armhole section, about to knit up the fronts/back. I am hoping not to run out of yarn -- would like to knit the hood but I am rapidly running through the blue! :)

queue: tomten, in blue with red details. i-cord edges. red shoulder section. probably no hood, but we’ll see.
