Another Susan Ashcroft design that starts in the center back and grows to a lovely crescent shape. I used 1 200 yard skein just for the garter section and grafted in the second skein in the increase row. While most Susan Ashcroft designs are perfect for variegated yarn, this pattern works better in a lighter colored solid or semi-solid / kettle dyed. The “owls” would get lost in a highly variegated color. Another option would be to use a variegated for the garter sections and then a contrasting solid for the owls.

The beads are 6mm gold square beads. I think it gives a nice mechanical look to an organic pattern.

“I Gufi Sono Finalmente Finito!” is Italian for “The Owls are Finally Finished!”. Finished with what? Darned if I know. I was hoping the owls would tell me.
