Notes

Main body in smooth yarn
add shaggy hair afterward with crochet hook
pink for snout
tan for hooves
brown for horns
8mm shank buttons for eyes
Lulu for end of tail and hair
- tail should have been more horse-like and less cow-like

Make it into a yak:
-shoulder hump - I adjusted rounds 5-10 but I think it should be farther back; this looks like she has no neck.
-do the hair on head as written
-no bell
-wider-set nostrils
-longer, upturned horns (top half curves back)
-I tacked on three wee ribbon roses to top of head

SFAC BO post here as a “White Ox”

-add shaggy neck / body hair
-beard / mane is reinforcement yarn
-body is fingering weight
-cut yarn into 2” lengths (wrap around a ruler and cut down one side)
-attach one Street a time with crochet hook if you don’t have a teensy latch hook
-attach to every 3rd stitch
-more densely as desired (like around face)

I learned:
Yaks are gentle and more easy-going than other big bovines.
They have hair on their genitals and udders.
White yaks are rare: about 3-5%.
Yak milk is nutritious and high-protein.
Yak tails are hairy like horse tails, rather than tufted like cow tails.
