Pfeilraupe translates to “arrow caterpillar.”
What?
I think it looks like a dragon wing and tail.

Linda Sue Jensen says this shawl inspired her [Dragon Tail Shawlette], which is machine knit in stockinette. I prefer this garter stitch version.

This designer, Alpi Alpenrose, likes ”a relatively firm gauge” but puts no number on it. The Ravelry pattern page says 21sts x 48rows = 10cm. I swatched with 3.5mm. I knit the first half firmly, and the 2nd half with semi-distracted tension. That second half has a lovely hand, and appears to be the specified gauge.

This crochet cast on is new to me! It’s easy to learn, and looks nice.

The yarn has a low twist, an uneven texture and a blend of fibres. These qualities make it quite splitty. Hey, I bet it also camouflages mistakes.

I’m at the bind off! Using this one: The Decrease Bind Off. It has just a little stretch, although the yarn has none.
