Notes

The red line up the centre of the sole may cause discomfort. If so, it could be moved it to the side.

I’m knitting the smallest size, on 2mm, yet it fits a bit big on my size 9.5 feet. Strange. I’m not a loose knitter.

A reinforcement yarn (usually a mohair blend lace weight) is held along with the sock yarn on the whole toe, and on the sole only for the ball of the foot and for the heel. Match reinforcement colour to sock yarn for each row. On sole, on the ball of the foot, reinforcement thread continues to Row 18 of the 1st repeat.

I reinforced these areas after observing where my socks wear out.

February 15, 2025:
Now that I’m doing the leg, I think the back cable is strange. Will it feel comfortable? If I were to do it differently, how?

Yeah, I’m dissatisfied with that back cable. Even though I changed it to 7 stitches wide instead of 9, it still looks like a clump. The YO’s can’t be seen. If I were to try this again, I would do the cable (or make it a faux cable like the front) in a way that shows the YO’s. I would have the single column of red stitches wind from side to side (as a river meanders) across the cables.
