Wearing a mask with elastic straps for hours on end can cause extreme irritation and spectacle wearers often find their glasses do not sit properly on their ears when wearing a mask. This simple device allows the wearer to hook the elastic over the buttons taking the pressure off the ears without lessening the benefits of the mask. They can be ...
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This is my second easy cabled pom pom hat pattern. I love cabled pompom and beanie hats but whenever I looked at knitting patterns for cables I found them very daunting. They can be written in a way that is hard to follow and the cable pattern is often written separately from the main pattern or as a chart; at a glance they appear very difficul...

Kevin Carrot is from the Aldi Christmas adverts: Christmas 2019 Kevin is carrotnapped by supervillian Russell Spout and his Leafy Blinders gang. I wont spoil the advert for your by telling you the ending but suffice to say Kevin remains the hero.
Knitting: Cardigan
This gorgeous jacket is knitted entirely in garter stich from the top down on straight needles. There are instructions for two sizes, newborn (5.5lbs – 8lbs) and 0-3 months. The use of stitch markers there is virtually no stitch counting, just keep track first 34 rows using a row counter or pen and paper.
Knitting: Onesies
I designed this pattern for my grandson who is due at the beginning of September. I wanted an outfit that could be layered up if it turns chilly but the short sleeves and legs mean it is good to wear if the sun is shinning.
Knitting: Booties
These booties are designed for a newborn baby weighing between 5lbs-8lbs (2.3-3.4kg) and are knitted flat on straight needles. Little booties are perfect for finishing off an outfit and will keep tiny toes warm. They measure just 3 inches (7.5cm) long and 2 inches (5cm) high; are knitted bottom up and are very quick to make.

I love cabled pompom and beanie hats but whenever I looked at knitting patterns for cables I found them very daunting. They can be written in a way that is hard to follow and the cable pattern is often written separately from the main pattern or as a chart; at a glance they appear very difficult. Actually cabling is easy peasy and within a few ...
Knitting: Toy Food
This pattern is for Kevin the Carrot, who stars in the Aldi Christmas adverts, and his family. There are several sizes of carrot included in the pattern; the larger sizes make fun stocking fillers while the children are a great size to hang on the tree.

This pattern is for a tiny Santa hat for my knitted Sprout and Carrot Christmas decorations.
Knitting: Brooch
I love knitting flowers and the Remembrance Poppy is my favourite, I have knitted hundreds and hundreds for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. I like to the look of separate petals but find them time consuming to make so I have designed which gives the illusion of petals but is knitted in one piece.
Knitting: Table Setting - Other, Hanging Ornament
My granddaughter, Bonnie, loves sprouts and her Mum asked me if I could knit some as baubles to hang on the Christmas Tree. The sprout middle is knitted first then the leave are sewn around the bottom. It is an untrimmed sprout, and the natural curl of the stocking stitch makes the leaves look more real.
Knitting: Applique / Embellishment
Ruby’s hat is a popular pattern featuring a flower stitched to one or both sides above the ear. The pattern does include a flower but points our many other patterns are available. I think that this is a lovely flower pattern that really suits the hat.
Knitting: Cowl
This Cowl is based on the Ruby Hat design. it is the same construction as the hat, using short rows to shape. I have given instructions for an alternative flower to the one included on the hat pattern.
Knitting: Cloche Hat
This is a super chunky version of Ruby’s Hat, it is a very quick knit thanks to the super chunky (bulky yarn) and big needles.
Knitting: Brooch
I have been knitting Poppies for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal since 2014 have developed a number of poppy flower patterns. They vary from quick knits with basic yarn to more time consuming patterns; I have even included beads on some designs.
Knitting: Cloche Hat
I have done this hat in four sizes but it is easy to customise the fit by increasing (or decreasing) the number of ridges you knit. I think this design is perfect for self striping yarn and I have been using King Cole Riot DK. I had plenty of yarn left from 100g to knit a flower and a disc, you could do two flowers if your prefer. I have given ...
