I have used this pattern since the mid 1970’s and have made many family members sweaters using it. I have updated it a bit. The original pattern used a smaller needle for the ribbing; however, I did not want to make the ribbed edges pull in so I used the same size needle as for the body.

This pattern is for a soft, cable baby blanket with wonderful drape. On this project, the first stitch is slipped on each row to make a smooth edge. This pattern may easily be enlarged to an afghan size.

I used The Fibre Studio At Yarns To Dye For’s Halfvent kit in the color Nouveau Rainbow with Charcoal as the Main Color. I carried the yarn doubled throughout and had enough to make a very full Pom Pom.

This Plain Knitted Wash Cloth is a great first project for beginning knitters. It is knit flat, using a size 6 needle and worsted cotton yarn. Gauge is not important. It has very simple construction, using garter stitch border and stockinette inset.

This is a quick and easy cowl knit with chunky yarn on a large needle.
