Hat pattern stitch is a variation on the 2x2 rib stitch with decreases worked in pattern to finish. Yarn is a thick and thin but you could substitute another yarn as long as you achieve gauge with it.

This pattern is for a headband with an attached, optional flower trim. It was developed because I wanted a pattern where the increases and decreases looked virtually the same.
