Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
The Tahoe Wrap is inspired by the deep blue waters of Lake Tahoe, just a few hours from my home. This wrap incorporates three different lace patterns, one on each end and a cat’s eye lace in the body of the wrap. With built in I-cord edges, it’s all done when you bind off.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Spring is on the way. That puts me in mind of the House Finches which always built a nest in the eaves outside my studio window. Their eggs are a lovely speckled blue-green and these yarns reminded me of them.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
I love a worsted weight project. They knit up so quickly and are a welcome break for me between working with fingering weight yarns. These gauntlets are very quick, very easy, and highlight my All Hallows colorway Cauldron. Get creative with yarn from your stash, or purchase this exact yarn from the shop, www.themerryspinster.com. The feature a...
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This hat was inspired by the hand dyed yarn of the same name from Sincere Sheep’s Made Here Club. This yarn is made with multiple dyeing techniques. If you are lucky, you can get one of the last available skeins of this fun yarn over at Brooke’s web store. But other speckled fingering weight yarns will look lovely as well. If you look at the cl...
Knitting: Cowl
In the early fall, there is still green on the trees, but there are hints of the glorious color to come here and there. There are dashes of gold, brown and orange among the greenery. The squirrels are hiding away acorns for their winter stores, and the air is turning crisp. This longer and still lightweight cowl is the perfect accompaniment on ...
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
There are some fall days which are crisp enough to warrant some protection for the hands while leaving the fingers free for collecting leaves, acorns, etc. These extra long fingerless mitts get the job done and are stylish to boot. You can make these from a solid yarn, a gradation yarn or even a speckled yarn. They have a thumb gusset so there ...
Knitting: Ankle Sock
These are the perfect stash busting socks. I used a gradational yarn as the primary color and then scraps from two old balls that had very little left on them. These socks are totally customizable. I do not give instructions on how wide each stripe should be or how many colors you should use or what color should come first. This is all up to yo...

To keep things simple, stick to a light side ...

This hat is the perfect complement to the Briodds and Ends Cowl. It’s also a fantastic way to use up all those yarn scraps from previous projects. Because it’s just straight brioche knitting, (except for the decreases at the crown), it’s a great way to practice your brioche and have fun with color. Raid your stash and experiment with color! Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
Fall means cool weather and chilly feet! Whip up a quick pair of these socks and get a complicated look with only a plain vanilla pattern. It’s the yarn choice that adds the pizzaz. These socks are knit from the cuff down and use a short row heel and short row toe so if you are not used to working with those, this pattern gives you a new, quick...

Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Spring mornings break with a deep blue and then fractured sunlight with pinks, purples and blues as the sky lightens. This shawl is my ode to daybreak on a spring morning. You’ll start with a garter tab cast on and work through a relaxing garter stitch section, perfect for watching Netflix or listening to your favorite book. Next you’ll move in...

Knitting: Cowl
This cowl began as a much larger version (double the size) as a Christmas gift for my Mother In Law. I updated it with my brighter colors, worsted weight instead of sport weight yarn and used my own hand dyed yarns. Many colors of which are still available on my website if you’d like to make your own version with the same yarn. It’s a fun piece...

Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
I designed this shawl to showcase two of my hand dyed yarns. Both are 100% worsted Merino, one dyed in coreposis and the other dyed in Rhubarb and then overdyed with madder. This shawl is so adaptable. It can be worn in a number of ways. The chainmail lace pattern is easy to remember which makes it the perfect on the go project.

This shawl is my take on the Rent Shawl worn by Claire Fraser in Season 1 of Outlander. It’s super easy to knit up and goes quickly as you hold two strands of worsted weight yarn throughout. It’s easily adjustable for size. If you’d like it longer/bigger, just continue in the main color for the desired length and then add your contrast color ba...

Knitting: Beret, Tam
This tam is playful and the colors of late spring early summer. I think it’s something the Fair Folk might wear to cavort in the cool morning mists. These two yarns are a heavy fingering weight but a sport weight or DK would work well too. This is a traditional stranded knitting piece and I’ve designed the patterns so that your floats aren’t to...
Knitting: Cowl
The French word for ‘Spring’, the Printemps Cowl echos the new birth of spring, bright, fresh, green and verdant. This is the perfect first lace project, with easy to follow written and charted instructions. Bonus, it doubles as a great headband/wrap. Give yourself or a friend a little lightweight cowl to ward off the last of springtime’s chill.

This is a super easy and totally modifiable ½ Pi Circle capelet. Made with any two yarn colors you like, it’s endlessly versatile. The Pi Shawl shaping does all the work for you and this capelet drapes over the shoulders and stays put. I made this one in two colors of Sincere Sheep Cormo Worsted: Winter Solstice, and Winter’s Night.

Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This shawl is fun to knit and a great project for Netflix binging! I happened to have purchased a set of five lace weight colors and this was the design I came up with but any five colors will do. For a little whimsy I added a simple wavy lace border. The lace weight yarn makes it a light piece to wear to keep off fall or spring chills, or you ...

A scarf that was inspired by the Goddess Airmid, the Celtic goddess of healing and all things green and alive. A lovely simple pattern great for beginners and experienced alike. I knitted this scarf during my daily walks as the pattern repeat is easy to remember and you can get into a rhythm very easily.
