Crochet: Toys and Hobbies - Other
Easy Capybara Amigurumi. Uses basic crochet stitches (UK terms) and techniques such as double crochet, increase and decrease. My sample is approx. 4.5 cm but you can make this with any size yarn and appropriate hook for that yarn and your capybara will be bigger or smaller accordingly.
Crochet: Toys and Hobbies - Other
A little pocket pigeon with the colours of life sized real pigeons. Adapt to other birds by changing the colour to suit your chosen bird. If you use a thicker yarn and bigger hook you can, of course, make a bigger bird.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
A stranded colourwork fingerless mitten knit in Aran weight yarn for cosy winter warm hands.
Crochet: Toy Food
A great pattern for using up oddments of yarn; make it plain in one colour or jazz it up with stripes or embroidered embellishments.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
One size beanie type hat for use in knitting a hat for our troops in Afghanistan to be worn under their helmets. Based on an adaptation of a pattern issued by the Royal British Legion.
Knitting: Mittens
Pattern includes notes on spinning your own yarn for this project or it can of course be knit in a commercial yarn.
