Knitting: Stocking
The first Druid Hat I ever made was for my son when he was around eight years old, and he literally lived in it, so lots of folks saw it.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Wild Island Sherpa Hats are my basic “go to” hats for everyday winter wear. They are simple to make, work with lots of different colours, look really good in solid colours, fit nicely, and the braid at the top fits under hoods better than most pompoms.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
The first pairs of socks I made were for my daughter. She had gone to university, and the house she was living in had cold floors, so she asked if I could make warm socks.
Knitting: Poncho
A super easy pattern that creates a basic kids poncho with a simple off-centre neck, and fringes on two sides. The poncho is created by making two rectangular panels, and stitching them together.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
Gauntlets are long versions of my hand sweaters that reach almost to the elbow, and they have been designed with both fit and dramatic effect in mind.
Knitting: Mittens
When I started my knitwear business, I started with mittens. I tried a few different styles, but none really worked as well as I wanted. Most patterns were too thin, too baggy, too complicated, too fussy, too slow, or simply not durable.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
What, you ask, are hand sweaters? Hand Sweaters are what I call my version of “texting mittens”, or “fingerless gloves”.
Knitting: Cowl, Poncho
A super easy knitting pattern that creates a comfy, slightly oversized adult poncho with a simple off-center neck, and fringes on two sides, and a handy matching infinity scarf
