„Cordial Embraces” is a crescent shaped shawl with clipped corners, worked from side to side in one piece. Its wide border in Japanese lace style with a traditional leaf garland pattern is worked together with the reverse stockinette stitch body and included both charted and as written-out row-by-row description. Short row shaping creates a slight curvature so the shawl stays put.

“Cordial Embraces” was designed in collaboration with Dream in Color Yarn.

Materials:

  • Dream in Color Jilly (100% Merino) 113g/ 440 yards (402 meters); 2 skeins or approx. 800 yards (731 meters) of any fingering weight yarn that knits up to gauge. The sample is knit with “Jocelyn” colorway.
  • US 2½ (3 mm) 40” (100 cm) circular needle
  • Two stitch markers
  • Tapestry needle

One size fits all:
Finished measurements: length (outer edge): 57.5” (146 cm); depth (center): 22” (56 cm)

Gauge:
19 sts and 30 rows per 4” (10 cm) in reverse stockinette stitch after blocking – save time by checking the gauge ♥
Gauge is not essential; however, with a different gauge, actual finished measurements and total yardage will change.
