Heather June is a rectangular shawl I began designing for my sister in spring of 2015 as her graduation gift from high school. She wanted something light, feminine, and completely unique that nobody else would have.

I came up with Heather June, a shawl with lace and cables, that would give texture while maintaining the airy feel she was looking for.

This pattern uses Japanese stitch motifs, with Estonian construction and edging designs.

In honour of my sister, I named the design after her.

Techniques used:

  • Knitting from charts
  • Lace
  • Cables
  • Grafting (kitchener stitch)
