The mitts were inspired by fall walks in the forest where I live - hiedra means ivy in Spanish.

The Hiedra mitts are cozy and warm to keep your hands toasty even on colder days but allows you easy access to your fingers. The mitts can be worn folded or unfolded to cover your fingers.

They are a quick and fun knit using up less than a skein of worsted weight yarn and are worked buttom up with a beautiful plant motif in the front while the rest is knit in garter stitch. The thumb has carefully been placed on the back of the hand for the best fit. The mitts also feature an interesting technique dropping and picking up stitches for the braids.

There is a complementary headband pattern to go with the mitts - Use code HIEDRA to get a discount when buying both patterns.
