Who doesn’t love rainbows and knitting around corners? My seven-year-old son recently came home from school singing “I can sing a rainbow”, which of course made me wonder if I could knit one. This cute and cuddly rainbow is knitted flat on straight needles and sewn together with one short seam. The pattern contains right and left leaning increases and decreases and some short rows, so it’s good for practicing your shaping.

It’s also a fun way to use the Loopy Cakes Rainbow Sampler by Loopy Ewe. Which contains 6 mini skeins of 110 yds each in bright and cheerful rainbow colors. There’s enough yarn in the sampler to make a total of 6 rainbows. Note that the gauge is a little tighter than recommended for the yarn -- that’s just to keep the fabric firm and keep the stuffing in.
