This is a little quick knit pattern (all test knitters completed it in under 5 hours) for an adventurous beginner or intermediate knitter. The kerchief has two flowers, one on each side and needs a button & buttonhole to fasten it around your neck. The idea was to have scarfs that can be used by my daughter and myself at the same time, as she loves to copy. The edging gives a lovely liveliness to the kerchief.

The pattern includes a garter-tab cast-on, which I have explained in this video. The pattern also uses the method in this video on setting up a triangular shawl knit from the top and down. Both videos are available for free viewing on Youtube.

The pattern has been tested in DK, Worsted and Aran weight yarn. I would suggest any yarn that is recommended for needle size 4mm / US 6 as it will be knit with much bigger needles for a lacy look. You will also need a button (25-30mm / 1”).
