UPDATE 4/14/10 - had a request to resize this for a heavier weight yarn. The “Beth’s” version is sized for 40-42 using cotton yarn the works up to 4.5 sts./in in linen stitch.

This pattern is available both here on Ravelry and from my blog, please follow this link and click on the links under “Request a Free Original Pattern”. Patterns are in PDF format, color printing is often helpful.

I was inspired by a really lovely top in the le bouton catalog sometime back - I just love it. I asked Lisa if she was okay with my making some kind of adaptation of it, and she said that was okay with her. I’m not usually a fan of hand knitting cotton, I don’t find it wears well, but the linen stitch really makes it stable and produces a lovely, heavy fabric kind of like the world’s best sweatshirt. Only more stylish. Pattern is written for women’s small/med but if you send me your measurements I’ll custom write you your own pattern.
