Designed to coordinate with my Steampunk Collar, Steampunk Cuffs can be made with the remnants of the second skein of Hawthorne sock yarn left over from the collar.

The construction of the cuffs is quite similar to the collar: a ruffled cast on edge is decreased to a snug garter stitch band. Then, the piece increases dramatically in “spokes” over the next 3 inches to create a flirty, ruffled edge. The cuffs are buttoned to secure– giving the opportunity to show off with a quirky button (my personal favorites are buttons made of watch-works)!

Speaking of quirky–Steampunk cuffs can be worn as either gauntlets or spats! How cool is that!?!

Techniques used: Twisted German Cast On, directional increases and decreases, button holes, Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off.
