This pattern was originally released as part of Twisted’s 2012 Shawlette Club.

The red valerian (a.k.a. Jupiter’s Beard, or Centranthus Ruber) is a popular garden plant that flowers profusely in early summer. Although each jaunty reddish blossom is tiny, they bloom in showy clusters that combine to impressive effect, delighting bees and butterflies.

Like its namesake, the Valerian Shawlette has a small pattern repeated to great effect. It may not attract butterflies… but is very likely to attract knitters.

Skill level: Intermediate (lace repeats, charts – written instructions provided, too)
