Born & Raised Knits was founded in the spring of 2015 in Melbourne, Australia by Rachel Barish.

Rachel graduated from Parsons the New School for Design with a BFA in Knitwear Design. After working as a designer for brands such as Ralph Lauren and ESPRIT, Rachel founded her own knitwear company and began producing knitwear for clients. As the brand grew, Rachel decided to transition from knitwear production to designing patterns for knitters.

Now based in Los Angeles, California, Rachel designs full-time from her studio in sunny Burbank as well as teaches classes and workshops at The Altered Stitch, Valley Village!
