Bright Eyes Knits

Bright Eyes Knits

I started knitting back in 2012 thanks to my niece (who was turning 8 years old at the time). She asked me if I would take a knitting class with her for her birthday. We had a blast - and Ive been knitting ever since!

Speaking of family… My grandmother was definitely the most influential woman in my life. I have three sisters and we spent a lot of time at her house while we were growing up. She was the type of person that was never upset if we accidentally broke something of hers - she would calm us down (because we were always way more upset than she was) and would tell us “accidents happen” with a smile. She let us play dress up - with her real jewelry - and then on each of our 16th birthdays she gave each of us the set of her jewelry that we played with the most (she remembered each of our favorites for all those years). She passed away several years ago from ovarian cancer. I miss her every day. Ever since I was a baby her nickname for me was “Bright Eyes”. She was the only one that ever called me that, and she never called me anything else. It is a name that warms my heart and sometimes brings tears to my eyes. When I started designing I knew Bright Eyes Knits was a name that would bring me joy. I know she would be proud. I love you, Grandma.
