Knitting Design is something I have always done to some degree, when considering the fact that I used to often alter other designs to my personal satisfaction.

Since my design journey began in 2016, I’ve totally surprised myself with what I have managed to achieve. It seems that the more I design, the more my creativity develops. To the extent that my hands can’t always keep up with my brain! And my brain sometimes clicks into overload. FInding a balance is not always easy.

My maths skills have always served me well, but have come in particularly handy for designing, & I honour my teacher in High School for the part he played in my ability to now utilise those skills more often.

Im also grateful to my English Teachers over the years. Being able to spell & use words effectively is a great skill to have (& hone) when it comes to pattern writing.

I’m constantly working on developing all my patterns (past, present & future designs) to make sure they are instructionally clear, & uncluttered.

DESIGN CAREER HIGHLIGHT My Belle of the Ball design was a (top ten) FINALIST ENTRY in the 2018 San Francisco Vogue Knitting Live (Magic Mohair) Design Contest, run to coincide with the release of the beautiful Faerie Knitting book.
