Dana began her knitting journey in February 2006. But it was not until October 2007 that God revealed a mission for her knitted projects.
As a child of God, Dana honors the importance of putting God first in all that she does. Knitting is no exception. Isaiah 61:3 engulfs the inspiration behind starting Knitted Oaks and is the mission of the company.
“and provide for those who grieve in Zion--to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.”
