Franco-Maori, American-Australian knitwear designer + coach living in Osaka, Japan.

At Aroha Knits, as a knitwear designer and coach, I inspire and empower fiber artists to transform their yarn so they can manifest Aroha, one stitch at a time.

My designs draw influence from my Maori heritage, where I transform the myths, legends, and other stories into stitches and connect them to the story of why we make. Through this recreation, my work aims to remember the past and strengthen the future for the Maori culture and people, while enriching the present knitting community and share my voice and stories of the third-space generation.

Why do you knit? Begin your journey of discovering your story of why you create by taking the Fibre Muse Discovery Quiz. Click here to discover your inner Fibre Muse!

Pay What Works: In an effort to find a balance between more financial accessibility and sustainable pricing, I now offer a “Pay What Works” model. This allows for financial flexibility while still valuing and respecting the work and energy I and others provide in the making of this pattern. The price shown on Ravelry is the “true” value of the pattern that best reflects the work put into creating this design.

To purchase the pattern at a price point that is more accessible to you, use the coupon code at checkout listed next to the price point. The prices indicate the price you will pay, not the discount amount. No coupon code is needed for the highest price point.
