Janet Szabo

I knit cables. I design with cables, I write about cables. Cable knitting is what I do. My company, Big Sky Knitting Designs, is home to my quarterly newsletter Twists and Turns: The Newsletter for Lovers of Cable Knitting and to my books: Cables, Volume 1: The Basics, Aran Sweater Design, and The “I Hate to Finish Sweaters” Guide.

I’ve been published in Knitter’s Magazine, Cast-On, KnittingNOW, and was the featured guest on the Knitty Gritty episode “All About Aran.” I moderate the Aranknit Yahoogroup for fellow cable and Aran fanatics. I am currently working on Cables, Volume 2.

My husband and I have two girls (ages 12 and 17) and two dogs. We live in beautiful northwest Montana, about 25 miles from Glacier National Park.
