I’m Mary! I’m a 20 year old college student studying IT/web & graphic design and knitting while I should be working :D I love my Creative Suite CS4, maybe a little too much! High saturation, good lighting, and macro focus pictures make me happy. I work for animal rescue. I’ve been knitting for two years and I’m very addicted. I design my own things, spin, and dye! If only I could knit in my sleep, then I would get things done faster!
I’m completely self-taught in every craft. I’ve never taken a class for anything, just read a bit online and worshiped youtube! Who says the internet rots your brain? It wouldn’t click at first, but I’m the stubborn-Irish type of girl, so I kept at it ‘til things clicked for me. I started out with knitting - quickly becoming quite addicted to berets. Seriously, try and catch me not wearing a beret on any given day! Then I dabbled into crochet when every cousin in my family and three of my friends got pregnant - toys for the babies! Then my love of all things craft let to my addiction to dying, which quickly led to my addiction to spinning. I spin more than I knit now, it’s taken over my life! I absolutely love my wheel, Einin; she was a birthday present from my mom.
Within the last few months I’ve started designing as well. I designed a fan version of Det. Kate Beckett’s beret from Castle, a recession-friendly headband solution, some fingerless mitts, and some last-minute electronics cases. In the works right now are a few berets, some mittens for next winter, a vest, and some other project ideas that are hiding in the midst of my fiber stash wall aka Wall D’stash.
