Sarah Murley

Sarah Murley

My name is Sarah Murley, and I am a knitter inspired by places and locations, hence the location-name project title theme.

I am also a studying musician and student. My time is unequally divided between my violin, guitar and piano, my knitting and my work/school.

I am constantly looking at yarn wondering “What can I do with this yarn that nobody else has done with it?” I get excited by bright colours, natural fibers and classy, expensive yarns, as well as a variety of other characteristics. I am what they call a wool-a-holic. Not a very good thing in polite circles. I am also not averse to synthetic fibers, in fact, they are the best for children’s wear for their great wash n’ wear quality!

My all-encompassing fiber arts company name is Maple Leaf Rag(s) Designs -a salute to Scott Joplin, a ragtime piano player with a hit called Maple Leaf Rag. MLRD peddles home-sewn children’s clothing, period costumes, sewing commission, and now recently, knitting patterns for free on Ravelry.

Unfortunately, I have no website, as of now, only a blog, but feel free to ping me at: mapleleafrags@murley.ca. I will be happy to answer your questions and queries.

Thanks for dropping by!!
