I am a wife and a mother. My background is in Finance and Acconting as a Credit Manager and Acount Analyst.
Besides that, I am a crochet and knitwear designer, tech editor, patternist, spinner, teacher, jewelry maker, and small business consultant.
Crochet & Knitwear Designer, Editor and Patternist: Since later 2007-early 2008 I have been sample knitting for an indie online yarn company. Within the last year, that position have grown from sample knitter, to patternist, to designer of crocheted items. Also, I have patterns available on Rav, etsy, KnitPicks Independent Designer Program, and in Spring 2011 I will have a pattern published in a book (more information to come when the book has been released).
Small Business Consulting: I have been running my own business since 2002 and want to offer up my experience to help other crafty people turn their hobbies into a business and to help those who already have made that leap, to grow their business. I am currently working with a couple local artists to turn their hobby into a business. We are working on business plans and marketing. My role is not to write the business plan for the business (which I can do, but do not recommend) because the business owner needs to own the plan. I help with how it is done with an ojective perspective offering ideas on possible directions the business can proceed. In my experience, the hardest part of the business plan development is figuring the financials. The business might not be at the point where it needs a loan from a financial institution, but the owner needs to know how to calculate profit margins, etc and that’s where I am the biggest help. Cash is King!
Well That Was A Lot. I love Knitting/Crocheting, spinning, and Designing. It offers a sense of peace and tranquility from my very hectic life. I am working on some designs that I hope will reflect my life and stages of my life as I grow and mature in my art, with my family beside me every step of the way
