When I started knitting 4 years ago, I soon found myself making modifications to every pattern I knitted up. It wasn’t too much of a stretch to put together a whole pattern, and so I came up with my first design, Slither, as an entry for the Malabrigo Junkies design competition.

I eagerly began research into designing, reading books and taking classes. But when my daughter Ingrid was born in March 2011, my free time disappeared! Happily, she also provided the inspiration for many design ideas. Now that Ingrid is getting older and more independent, I’m working on several garment designs.

Stomp Out Cancer socks
This pattern will be a fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen foundation. I’ll be participating in the 3-day walk in September. The pattern is currently being test knit and will be available for purchase beginning Memorial Day weekend.

Radar Love dog sweater
