Yarn Cupboard is hosting it’s first annual Winter Fiber Arts Retreat and Market. Preregistration is required for the retreat and classes by Wednesday, March 16th.

Sandi Wiseheart, founding editor of Knitting Daily will be teaching “Sweaters to fit you” and also “Sweater Triage”, for your problem sweaters that you are currently working on. Jennifer Van Calcar from Holiday Yarns is teaching paint dyeing techniques; Jill Draper from Jill Draper Makes Stuff is teaching reknittable heals and toes and doubletime reversible cowl; Kerry Dorn teaching her beautiful primitive rug hooking; wonderful Lisa Ann Merian from Spinners Hill will be teaching 2 needle felting classes, one sculptural class and one on a silk scarf; Beth Coye will be teaching 2 spinning classes for wheel and drop spindle; Author Kristy McGowen who just published Top Down Knitting will be teaching one of her designs; Cal Patch will be teaching 2 classes: crochet for knitters and embroidery for your surface fabric in knit and crochet; Shannon will be teaching the hexagonal shawl, fair isle toe-up socks, and twinned Swedish mittens.

Operating hours of the open market are Saturday 9am to 6pm, Sunday 9am to 3pm with a preview for retreat guests on Friday night. Vendors include Yarn Cupboard and the new spring yarns and spinning wheels, Holiday Yarns kits and new yarns, Lisa Ann with her fiber, Jill Draper with yarn and fiber, Kerry Dorn with everything you need for rug hooking, plus buttons, beads….and a few more.

Friday evening will include a fashion show of knitted garments from our wonderful KAL with Sandi Wiseheart! We look forward to meeting many of the participants of this successful KAL.

The retreat for 2 nights, meals Friday night, all day Saturday and through to lunch Sunday is $170. Please call the Yarn Cupboard to reserve you room. . Classes are additional and are now posted.
