Pattern description from Vogue Knitting, Holiday 2007: “Knitted and felted chair seat covers with a duplicate stitch (of knit in) floral pattern and embroidered details. Shown on page 24 & 26.”

Notes:

  1. “To make gauge swatch, cast on 27 sts and work in St st for 36 rows. Swatch should measure 6” / 15.5cm square. Bind off. Felt swatch until it measures approx 4” / 10cm wide by 5” / 12.5cm tall. Keep track of how many washes were needed to achieve this measurement.”
  2. “You can download the charts from our website or order them by mail. (see page 135 for details).”

Nicky’s Notes:

  1. “To make a cover for a bigger chair, add more background color to the stitches and rows. For a smaller chair, keep the same number of sts and rows. Some of the motif may go into the seam, but the result will still be beautiful.”
  2. “The floral pattern can be entirely knit in, or smaller sections can be worked in duplicate st, or all of the pattern can be worked in duplicate st.”
